Conclusions & Recommendations

TEC congratulated the FMOH, the Regional Health Bureaus of Gambella and Beneshangul Gumuz, the Administration for Refugee and Returnee Affairs (ARRA), and RTI for the excellent work done to conduct Integrated mapping in refugee camps

Pending confirmation of funding, TEC contingently approves Zithromax® treatments against trachoma for two refugee camps in Beneshangul Gumuz (Sherkole and Tsore) as they are located within Homosha woreda, which is already part of the trachoma program

Recognizing that the population of the camps is not static, TEC requests that, after distribution funding is confirmed, the FMOH provide the current population of these two camps prior to shipping

TEC recommends that the FMOH submit a request for the camps separately each year

TEC recommends that the camp population be surveyed separately from their host woredas

Pending confirmation of funding, TEC contingently approves Zithromax® treatments against trachoma for six refugee camps in Gambella (Pugnido; Pugnido II; Okugo; Jewi; Tierkidi; and Kule) because the evaluation unit level prevalence was TF1-9 ≥5% AND the host woredas all have TF1-9 ≥5%.
