14.2.1 - Zithromax® for Trachoma-Package Insert Changes
Conclusion/Recommendation:
TEC recommends that ITI management work with WHO and Pfizer to review the required Zithromax® package insert changes and develop a plan to roll it out to avoid causing drug shipment delays.
Action:
The revised package insert is being rolled out. In future, we will add a line to the annual MOUs stating that the package insert will be kept up-to-date in line with the commercial product labelling.

Conclusion/Recommendation:
TEC recommends that the 2017 approval for 6,000 doses of Zithromax® following TT surgeries be added to the 2016 shipment to avoid making a separate, small shipment in 2017.
Action:
There was sufficient Zithromax® inventory to obviate the need for a shipment.

Conclusion/Recommendation:
TEC would like to provide the Zithromax® donation to address trachoma in Egypt and has conditionally approved the donation to start treatments in one district (Dayr Mawas in Al Minya) for 2017 if funding can be identified.
Action:
The Ministry of Health convened a stakeholder meeting on October 2016 to identify resource gaps and develop a funding proposal to fully fund SAFE implementation in Egypt in 2017. A funding partner may be available for 2017.
